Two civilians were killed and a number of people were injured in an Israeli attack on the Syrian capital of Damascus.
Syria's air defences were able to destroy most of the missiles fired by Israeli jets over the capital Damascus before they reached their targets.
Two civilians were killed and several others injured as a result of the attack, Syria's state news agency (SANA) said, quoting a military source.
"At 01:20 am, Israeli warplanes fired several missiles from the direction of both the Occupied Golan and Marj Eyoun in Lebanon targeting the outskirts of Damascus, and immediately our air defenses foiled the attack, intercepted the hostile missiles, and downed most of them before they reached their targets," the military source told SANA
Earlier today, Israel Radio reported that Israeli air force planes raided dozens of Iranian targets in Damascus in response to rocket fire on the Golan last night.
Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee said that Israeli warplanes attacked dozens of targets, including surface-to-air missiles, headquarters, weapons depots and military bases.
