Qatar’s population at the end of October this year stood at 2.75mn, registering an increase of 0.3% from the corresponding period in 2018 when it was 2.74mn, data released by the Planning and Statistics Authority revealed.Data released by the authority also showed that the population increased by 0.2% in October 2019, compared to the previous month.The data were published in the 70th issue of the monthly statistics. In addition, October 2019 month also witnessed an increase in the total live births by 5.7%, offset by the decrease in total deaths at a rate of 7.4% (compared to September 2019).Regarding vital statistics, 2,369 live births has been registered during October 2019. Also, the total Qatari live births increased by 9.8% compared to last month. On the other hand, 174 deaths were recorded during the same period, a  decrease of 7.4% compared to September 2019.Moreover, October 2019 saw a monthly increase by 9.4% and 27.3%, respectively, in marriage contracts and divorce certificates. The total number of marriage contracts was 313, whereas the total number of divorces has reached 154 cases; namely, one divorce for every 2 marriages.Social Security statements, reached QR87mn in October 2019, for 15,735 beneficiaries.Total electricity consumption during October 2019 was 4,761.9 GWh registering a monthly decrease of 5.8% and an annual rise of 35.6%. The total water consumption has reached 40,814,8000 cu m during the same month attaining a monthly decrease of 29.7% and an annual rise of 9.1%.The data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 954 permits during October 2019, recording a monthly increase of 25.9%.As regards traffic accidents cases, a total of 599 cases were recorded during October 2019, showing a monthly increase of 10.9%. Light injuries accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents during the same month, with 85%, followed by severe injuries (12%). However, 16 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 3% of total traffic accidents.The total number of registered new vehicles during October 2019 reached 6,557.  The figure showed a monthly increase of 10.7% and an annual increase of 3.4%.For Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR559.0bn during October 2019, an annual decrease of 2.1% compared with October 2018. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits amounted to QR825.3bn during October 2019. The figure represents an annual increase of 2.4% compared to October 2018, when deposits recorded approximately QR806.0bn.
