Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading telecommunications operator, has extended its consumer retail network with the opening of a new shop at Msheireb Metro Station, the main station of Doha Metro.
The new shop is Ooredoo’s first at a metro station, and offers one of its high-tech self-service machines which has been installed as part of a planned roll-out of SSMs at metro stations in Doha, it was announced yesterday.
The Msheireb Metro Station shop offers all the Ooredoo products and services, and will allow customers to fulfil all their service requirements from signing up to new mobile plans, new home services and Ooredoo tv packages, to recharging and choosing new smartphones and accessories.
To celebrate the opening, Ooredoo will be offering customers special opening promotions, and the first 100 customers who subscribe to Shahry and Mobile Broadband at the new shop will receive a free metro card with credit to use for metro rides. 
Speaking of the new shop opening, Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi – director PR and Corporate Communications – said: “Metro stations are convenient locations for customers to pop in on their way past, and an ideal extension of our already wide retail shop network. In keeping with our aim of complete digitalisation, we’re proud to offer one of our state-of-the-art Self-Service machines to make carrying out transactions even quicker and easier.” 
Ajlan Eid al-Enazi, chief of Strategy and Business Development Division at Qatar Rail, said: “The metro is a holistic project, and its stations are considered as attractive points not only for passengers, but also for the residents of the neighbouring areas. At the same time, it provides new business opportunities for the business sector, entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium-sized companies, who are looking to have a presence in Doha metro stations. We are pleased to open the first Ooredoo shop in Doha Metro Stations, which will contribute to the service of passengers through the services and communications solutions provided by the company.”
