Dimdex signs Fincantieri as diamond sponsor for 2020

The organising committee of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex) has announced Fincantieri as diamond sponsor for its 7th edition taking place from March 16 to 18 at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). Organised by the Qatari Armed Forces, Dimdex 2020 will bring together many leaders and decision-makers in the field of international maritime security and defence this year under the slogan “The most prominent international event for the communication of security and maritime defence professionals.”
A signing ceremony for announcing the diamond sponsor took place at the Ministry of Defence in the presence of HE the Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces Lieutenant General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem and Achille Fulfaro, Fincantieri, Vice-president, Middle East Market Development. The agreement was signed by Achille Fulfaro, Fincantieri vice-president, Middle East Market Development, and Dimdex chairman Staff Brigadier (SEA) Abdulbaqi Saleh al-Ansari. Aldo Zizzo, head of Qatar business development at Fincantieri, also attended the ceremony.
HE Lieutenant General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem said: “Successful international co-operation is an essential part of the policy of expanding and emerging leading conferences and events for the State of Qatar. At the national level, we continue to consolidate our strategic relations with industry leaders to enhance defence frameworks in the State of Qatar, in line with the development goals contained in the Qatar National Vision 2030.”
Staff Brigadier (SEA) Abdulbaqi Saleh al-Ansari noted, “Fincantieri is a prestigious global shipbuilder and a leading industry force. We have forged a strong and close relationship as highlighted through their ongoing sponsorship and support. This announcement is part of a number of upcoming agreements that reflect international confidence in Dimdex as a key platform for industry networking and business opportunities.”
For his part, Achille Fulfaro said, “We are pleased to renew our collaboration with Dimdex, one of the most important events in the defence world. As a leading company in this sector, the strengthening of relationships is a fundamental point of our winning business model based, among other things, on partnerships with the most prestigious players in the area.”
The sponsorship announcement is part of a broader co-operation between Qatar and Fincantieri, which is one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups serving numerous foreign customers through a wide range of products and services, including the supply of integrated logistic support services and activities.
