Thai ambassador to Qatar Nathapol Khantahiran praised the growing relations between Thailand and Qatar at various levels, looking forward further development for the relations to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples. In statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of Qatar National Day, the ambassador said that the relations between Qatar and Thailand have been forged on the basis of mutual respect and understanding and expanded to cover multidimensional aspects.
"Within the matter of one year and three months I am very pleased to witness an upward trajectory in both our bilateral relations and in the multilateral framework. I look forward to working together with both government and private sector of State of Qatar to further enhance and consolidate both economic and cultural dynamism between the two countries and peoples as we celebrate our 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations in 2020 and in the years to come," the ambassador said.
On the auspicious occasion of the National Day, the ambassador of Thailand extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the government and the people of Qatar, noting that in the year 2019, Qatar has been indeed filled with a lot of initiatives and achievements, both at domestic and international level, worthy of being proud of.
"Despite local and regional challenges, Qatar has continued to reveal its great potentials and achievements at an impressive pace. The synergy of great leadership alongside with resilience and dedication of the government and its citizens were key factors that unlocked those potentials resulting in a wide range of accomplishments," the envoy added.
On the economic front, the ambassador noted that the ongoing Gulf crisis has not deterred Qatar from its strong determination, but rather a catalyst, to developing cordial ties with both existing and new partnerships. In terms of urban development, the ambassador said that Qatar has been witnessing a wide range of infrastructure and transportation network development, which would certainly have spill-over economic and societal effects to the development of Qatar economy and societies as a whole.
"It is even more admirable how Qatar's quest for self-sufficiency and long-term development has not only been limited to hard infrastructure development. The continuous efforts to build knowledge-based economy through human development and necessary legal reforms will act as promising success factors as Qatar pursues its path in attaining excellence and sustainability in various fields," the ambassador of Thailand underlined.
