Ambassador of Singapore to the State Jai Sohan Singh has hailed as distinguished the Singaporean-Qatari ties that are supported by the good relations between the leaders of the two countries, as well as the growing economic relations and friendly relations between the two peoples.

In his exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), on the occasion of the celebration of the country's National Day, HE the Ambassador said that the two countries witnessed an exchange of high-level visits in the past few years, and the most prominent of these visits is the official visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani to the Republic of Singapore in October 2017, and the visit of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al -Thani to Singapore in August 2019, and the visit of HE Teo Chee Hien, Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security in Singapore to Qatar in November 2019, among other visits. HE Ambassador expressed hope that bilateral relations between Singapore and Qatar would develop further in all fields in the coming years.

In this context, he stated that the State of Qatar has made tremendous strides in many areas including the economy, national defence, reform of the work system, food security and sport, during the past year.

He added that this is a testament to the rational, effective and forward-looking leadership in the State of Qatar, and also evidence of the stability and creativity of the Qatari people, expressing his belief that countries throughout the world can learn a lot from Qatar's experiences.

HE Singaporean Ambassador said : ‘On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Doha, I would like to send my sincere congratulations and best wishes to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani, and to the government and people of Qatar on the occasion of the celebration of the National Day.’ (QNA)
