TNG: 10 years of providing quality education

The Next Generation (TNG) School recently organised an event to mark its successful completion of 10 prosperous year of providing quality education in the State of Qatar. The event was hosted under the patronage of Dr Hamda Hassan al-Sulaiti, Secretary General at Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science.
Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh bin Khalifa al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Fulfilling the promise of providing quality education for ten years requires a lot of effort and perseverance. I wish the school continues to progress and prosper for many years to come.”
The 10th anniversary event was characterised by a celebration of the school’s achievements, its staff and wider community. 
While addressing the gathering, Riyaz Bakali, Director at TNG, said: “We are lucky that geographically we are located in Qatar where such a robust educational infrastructure has been laid and where our standards have to be of the highest quality. We are even luckier to have a team that understands TNG’s commitment to providing quality education and making children responsible global citizens, who are respected for their Islamic values.”
As part of its community outreach efforts, TNG presented Education Awards to appreciate organisations who have been contributing positively to the education sector by playing an active role in raising awareness about important issues. The nominations for this year included, Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, Juvenile Police Department, Qatar Cancer Society, Qatar Diabetes Association, Sidra Medicine, Bedaya, Baladna and Qatar Business Incubation Center. This was the 6th round of Education Awards hosted by TNG. 
Nimrod D’silva presented Cambridge Outstanding Learners Award for IGCSE Islamiyat – Top in Qatar to Meerub Muhammad Ilyas at the event. Students at TNG have managed to secure this award for the third year in a row.
Earlier in October this year, the school had announced ‘Teachers as Innovators’ award, for teachers who have successfully introduced innovative pedagogical approaches to their classrooms and achieved favourable results. At the event, the innovators had the opportunity to present and share the impact of their innovative approaches with the guests.
Dr Hamda Hassan al-Sulaiti, Secretary General, Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science and Chief Patron of the event applauded the school’s effort in pushing boundaries of the current education system. She said, “We commend the distinguished employment of technology in your classrooms and the school’s participation in international and local competition, in order to contribute effectively to achieve development and sustainability in our beloved county, Qatar.”
To appreciate the commitment and sincerity of its longest standing team members, TNG presented its staff with Loyalty Awards for completing 5 and 10 years of service. 
Excellence Awards for the categories, including Empowering the Team, Contributing to the School’s Mission and Vision, Incorporating innovative Teaching and Learning strategies, Contributing to Academic Excellence, Commitment and Sincerity, Responsibility and Diligence, Creativity and Innovation and Inspiring Growth and Change, were presented to teachers.
Established in 2009, TNG currently hosts a student body of nearly 1800 students and a team of 300+ members in seven campuses; that are located in some of the most central locations across the country. As an educational institute, TNG is committed to providing a safe learning environment for its students that guarantees their academic, personal and social growth, empowering them to meet global challenges with an emphasis on Islamic values.
