Chinese Super League Club Dalian Professional FC, as part of their tour of Qatar, organised by Qatar Foundation in partnership with Wanda Group, took to the stunning Education City Golf Course, designed by two-time major winner Jose Maria Olazabal.
The team at Education City Golf Course introduced the players to the game of golf by mixing golf and football with activities including, footgolf, which is played using the feet and footballs and large holes with flags; putting lessons on the putting green; and SNAG golf, which uses special clubs and larger tennis ball like balls.
Later in the week the players will continue their golf journey on the driving range and the 9-hole par 3 course that sits alongside the 18 whole championship course and special floodlit 6-hole (full size hole) course.
In 2020, the championship course will host the 23rd edition of European Tour event, Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
Dalian Professional FC has been brought to Qatar as part of Wanda’s FIFA Flag Bearers Programme at the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019, an ongoing initiative aimed at inspiring the next generation of football talent in China and all over the world.
There are 22 Dalian Professional FC youth players, aged 11 to 14, on the tour along with five coaches and team staff.
