The UN General Assembly adopted yesterday the 74th report of the Economic and Financial Committee (Second Committee), where Qatar was the vice chair.
The committee examined many topics related to economic growth and development. It also followed up the implementation of the outcomes of international development finance conferences related to agricultural development, food security, globalization, and the use of technology.
The committee also discussed issues related to the least-developed countries, in addition to the right of Palestinian people to exercise sovereignty on their land.
Qatar played a leading role during the second committee's meeting, where Second Secretary at the Permanent Delegation of Qatar to the United Nations, Ahmed bin Saif al-Kuwari, was the vice-chairman. His duties included chairing a number of the committee's sessions.
