Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP) has announced a cleanup activity at the Singing Sand Dunes on Friday, January 13."Hello everyone! This Friday we are going to the beautiful Singing Sand Dunes. This is a kid- and family-friendly activity. Join us," an announcement on Facebook said.Providing the details and the dos and don'ts, DEAP said volunteers need to have their own transportation. SUVs are preferred, while sedans can reach the base of the dunes but the last 200m are bumpy/rocky.Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.Gloves, pickers and bags will be provided to the participants., who have also been requested to dress properly. Shoulders and knees need to be covered, and small shorts should be avoided. Long shorts or pants are accepted, and participants should also bring sweaters in case it is cold."Don’t forget sun protection," the advisory continued. "Bring your own food and drinks. Please bring a reusable water bottle. We will have a refill station for everyone to use. Feel free to bring something to share (not mandatory), but please make sure it is something that’s not too heavily packaged so we produce less waste (practise what we preach)."There are no toilets or facilities at the site. However, there are toilets at a petrol station 10 minutes away.Those who want to participate need to do the following to register:* Please confirm only if 100% certain that you are coming.* Send us a direct message. Let us know how many people are coming with you.* We will send you a confirmation message.The programme's agenda is as follows:* 3pm: Arrival at the dunes. "Please be on time! We will start at 3pm sharp."* 3-4pm: Cleanup activities.* 4-5pm: Social time, enjoy a beautiful beach and sunset. People can depart whenever they want.* 5pm: End of the event.Every participant/volunteer acknowledges that not DEAP, nor any of its volunteers, is responsible for the actions, the consequences of these actions, and the wellbeing of participants en route, during and after the cleanup. All volunteers acknowledge the risks associated with the cleanup and being outdoors in nature and the wilderness. All responsibility relies on each volunteer attending the cleanup.
