Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Police College of the Ministry of Interior will celebrate on Thursday the graduation of the second batch of candidates, which includes 110 students.

At a press conference held on this occasion, the college administration congratulated all graduates and their families on the graduation and obtaining a bachelor's degree in law and police science, expressing pride in these young cadres who will join various departments of the Ministry of Interior and the security and military agencies.

Director-General of Police College Brig Dr Mohamed al-Muhanna al-Marri said that there are 89 Qataris in the second batch, while the rest of the students are from three Arab countries: (Jordan 10 students), (Palestine 7 students), and (Yemen 4 students).

He pointed out that the preparation of the ceremony began from an early date to preserve the excellence of last year's ceremony, and enhancing it with unique offers worthy of this day, praising the efforts that have been made at the academic and training levels to graduation.

Dr al-Marri pointed out that the current batch joined the college in the academic year 2015-2016, to obtain a bachelor's degree in law and police science. The students underwent advanced specialised courses such as 'Thunderbolt', skydiving, and diving, as well as summer training in the departments of the Ministry of Interior, English courses at a British university, and a special programme related to qualifying security personnel for the 2022 World Cup.

Brig Dr al-Marri said that the Police College is moving forward with developing its academic, training and research programmes, based on an ambitious vision to transform into a police academy by 2023. The college seeks to transform into a comprehensive academy, which includes a college for postgraduate studies, and institutes for training, education and scientific research, he said.

Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the Police College Lt Col Dr Jabr Hammoud al-Nuaimi said that the graduates have acquired police knowledge and science over four years (130 hours), besides attending training and sports programmes and specialised courses.

He pointed out that this year's graduation ceremony will witness the presence of delegations from several friendly countries.

On Thursday 's events, Director of Training Department Major Fahd Saeed al-Subaie explained that the graduates are ready to stage a spectacular show during the graduation ceremony.

He said that in addition to the traditional show, there will be other impressive programmes, as well as a presentation by many school students who received training at the Police College within 'Tomorrow's officers' programme.
