Qatar Chamber visited Qatar Foundation (QF) headquarters on Wednesday to learn about collaboration opportunities and programmes related to environmental sustainability. The visit was part of the chamber’s goal to keep pace with the ongoing environmental sustainability transformation in the country, Qatar Chamber said in a statement.
The delegation included board members Dr Khaled bin Klefeekh al-Hajri, Abdul Rahman bin Abdulla al-Ansari, Dr Mohamed Jawhar al-Mohamed, and Ibtihaj al-Ahmadani, as well as director general Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi and several Qatari businessmen.
During the visit, QF Sustainability Specialist of Operations Nawal al-Sulaiti briefed the delegation on the foundation’s efforts and initiatives aimed at planting trees and protecting environment.
She also highlighted objectives of the ‘Park & Plant’ initiative, which was designed to make Education City a greener space and turn it into a more pedestrian-friendly environment.
In this respect, Qatar Chamber announced its support for the initiative, which aims to plant 20,000 trees before the end of 2022 by encouraging private sector companies to join the programme. The board members also expressed their full support for the initiative by planting several trees at the Education City’s park Wednesday.
