The answer to all of these questions takes us way back in history, when superstitious beliefs of Romans were very common. Romans followed them by looking back into the past at the end of the year and looked forward to the future at the beginning of each New Year. This tradition has passed on by people till this day to make a fresh start to their lives or to just get rid of bad traits and habits. Two won’t differ that it is somehow tough to keep up with some goals for a long time, especially New Year goals!
Don’t worry about it, some of us don’t even bother to begin with any resolution at all!
There are some reasons which genuinely push us to make New Year resolutions and they are in fact worth it. Let’s start off with that New Year goals help a person to be a better version of oneself than the previous year. So how does one do it right? Well, first one must analyse himself, get to really know himself, know his good and bad habits – no judging there! It works like a self-reflection – think of it like looking into yourself in a mirror and genuinely seeing the true you. The clarity of your mind helps one to focus more. After the analysis, one struggles to beat ones drawbacks and to boost the positivity in them. It makes one stronger! At last, one’s planned target’ has its own joy and pleasure. Self-improvement is the theme of New Year resolutions.
Planning one’s future at least for a week or two and then really sticking to it, brings a sort of decision making power in one. And sticking to one’s plan, strengthens one’s ability to stand by their decisions. These small plans gather to make a full fledge path to one’s future along with stability in one’s life.
A New Year resolution takes lead from all one’s goals; one keeps on setting around the year. Because it is that time, when everyone focuses on setting goals and encouraging each other positively to follow it.
While, in other cases, one’s goals are usually disturbed due to friends and colleagues. Like one sets a goal of avoiding fast food for a month or two but at the same week, one has to join colleagues for lunch so that he can’t miss a discussion or just a gathering of friends. So the support one gets on New Year resolutions, drives one to keep on track of them.
Last but not least, zest of making resolution and courage to follow it plays a great role in building hope. It gives something to look forward to and to hope for the best. It gives hope to one’s ability to improve himself and the Society in all.
Now, bring out your planner and let’s start writing those new year’s resolutions down!
