His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his accompanying delegation at his Al Bahr Palace office on Saturday on the occasion of their visit to the country to attend the signing ceremony of the Afghan peace agreement.
During the meeting, Pompeo thanked the Amir for hosting the signing ceremony of the peace agreement between the US and Taliban, as well as hosting talks between the two sides to help reach the agreement and appreciating Qatar's mediation efforts to resolve disputes and bring peace to the region and the world.
The meeting also dealt with the strategic bilateral relations between the US and Qatar and ways to enhance them, in addition to the most prominent regional and international development.
