Spain reported on Sunday some 2000 new coronavirus cases and more than 100 deaths over the last 24 hours.

The national television said that the new figures raise Spain's COVID-19 death toll to 288 with more than 7,700 people infected.

The national television added that the capital Madrid is the most affected region in the country with 3,544 cases and 213 deaths.

In Spain, people are banned from leaving home except for buying essential supplies and medicines, or for work.

With 191 deaths, Spain is Europe's worst-hit country after Italy. (QNA)
