*Effective from March 22, registration for vehicle inspection as well as payments can be done using Woqod mobile app

Vehicles in Qatar will be exempted from inspection until further notice because of the Covid-19 crisis, Fahes has announced.

Effective from March 22, the registration for vehicle inspection as well as payments can be done using the Woqod mobile app without going to the inspection centres, Fahes said in a statement on Wednesday.

This is being done in co-ordination with the Traffic Department.

The move comes in view of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and for the benefit of customers, the statement noted.

The Woqod app is available on both the iOS and Android platforms and can be downloaded from the respective online stores: Google Play and Apple's App Store, according to Fahes.

After downloading the Woqod mobile app, the following steps are to be followed:

* Open the app

* Click on the Fahes icon

* The Fahes page will open - it will show Request New Fahes Inspection, Fahes Station, About Fahes and Inspection Tips

* Click on Request New Fahes Inspection

* Enter your Qatar ID number

* Mobile number

* Car plate number

* Plate type

* E-mail address

Once the above data is entered, one has to press the submit button and a page will open. There, one has to enter the mobile number to which the inspection report will be sent.

To register, one has to click on the register button. Once done, the terms and condition page will open.

"Enter the card details and make the payment. After completion of the payment, the registered mobile will receive a payment receipt," the statement informed.

The registered mobile number will receive a message instructing the person concerned to proceed with the renewal of registration. "Renew the insurance and login to Metrash2 to have the registration certificate renewed," the statement added.
