Shura Council participates in meetings of Arab Parliament's Standing Committees

The Shura Council participated in the meetings of the Standing Committees of the Arab Parliament (AP), which were held Saturday in Cairo, to prepare for the work of the fourth session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament, slated for Sunday.The standing committees of the Arab Parliament include the Foreign Affairs and Political and National Security Committee; the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee; the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee; the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee.In its meeting Saturday, the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee discussed the economic conditions of the Arab world, following the current crises that have repercussed on the global economy as a whole and the Arab one in particular, as well as discussing strengthening aspects of Arab economic cooperation between Arab countries in the light of the sought after joint Arab economic integration.In turn, the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee discussed the situation of human rights in the Arab world and their protection and promotion. It also discussed a draft guiding law on protecting privacy and combating electronic extortion in Arab countries, and a draft road map to tackle child labor, in light of the Arab Parliament's keenness to address the issues of the Arab world through constructive legislations.Meanwhile, the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee discussed the latest developments in the report on the social situation of Arab countries. The discussions focused on the draft accreditation of the "International Certificate of Proficiency in the Arabic Language", in light of the Arab Parliament's attention to the Arabic language and its promotion and advancement, in light of globalization, the spread of modern technology, and the dominance of other foreign languages.
