The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Sunday announced 251 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) in Qatar, 28 more cases of recovery which takes the total number of recovered patients to 275, and one death.
The new cases are people who were in contact with positive cases among citizens and residents, official Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The new infected cases have been placed under complete isolation and they are receiving necessary medical care.
The MoPH explained that a 42-year old resident who died from Covid-19, was suffering from existing chronic diseases. The Ministry extends condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased.
According to a tweet from the MoPH, with a total of 1,351 people tested for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, as many as 49,102 have been tested so far in Qatar.
There are 2,979 positive cases to date in Qatar and 2,697 active cases currently undergoing treatment. The total number of Covid-19 deaths so far in Qatar is seven, according to the tweet.
The MoPH reiterated its call to all members of the society to stay at home and not go out except where absolutely necessary, QNA said. The Ministry requested everyone to fully co-operate and adhere to all health guidelines and preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection, including complying with social and physical distancing guidelines.
The MoPH also recommended that the public regularly visit its website to find out more advice about staying safe, QNA added.
