HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Nuaimi inaugurated the first technical and vocational tracks' exhibition for students with special needs for the academic year 2022-2023.Organised by the Special Needs Education and Gifted Care Department of the MoEHE, the exhibition featured the participation of 18 public secondary schools for boys and girls. Commenting on the occasion, Dr al-Nuaimi lauded the exhibition's content that demonstrates high-level of qualitative and innovative works and reflects students' skills and their inspired innovative ideas.He noted the efforts undertaken by the officials in the Special Needs Education and Gifted Care Department of the MoEHE in preparing and organizing the event, especially the provision of a conducive environment for students, along with the material and human resources and encourage students to pursue innovation and creativity everyone in his/her own field.He pointed out that he had sensed desire and willingness from students with special needs from males and females who work with their hands and subsequently turned their disability into opportunities and have been powerful in demonstrating a wide range of skills that were translated into high-quality products.Regarding the future vision of the exhibition, Dr Ibrahim said the ministry will provide opportunities to students with special needs to embark on their private works and projects in the field of entrepreneurship, including projects marketing and sales, in addition to introducing information technology and artificial intelligence to students' works. He urged other entities in the country to attract students with special needs and employ them based on their potential and capabilities.For her part, acting director of the Special Needs Education and Gifted Care Department at MoEHE Fatima Saeed Salem al-Saadi said the exhibition intends to introduce the public to the capabilities of students with special needs, along with their technical and vocational works, in addition to fostering their partnership and spreading the policy of comprehensive integration into the community.On the students' continuation of their higher education, she indicated that co-ordination is ongoing with the relevant entities in this regard to provide higher education and enable them to complete the college education based on their abilities.
