Qatar has so far designated five hospitals to care for Covid-19 patients, four health centres for testing, examining and keeping suspected cases in addition to a hospital for medical isolation, Sheikh Dr Mohamed bin Hamad al-Thani, director of the Public Health Department at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), has said.

In an interview with the official Qatar News Agency, he said the five hospitals designated to treat Covid-19 patients are the Communicable Disease Center, Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital, The Cuban Hospital, Mesaieed Hospital and Ras Laffan Hospital.

The four health centres mentioned above are Gharafat Al Rayyan, Umm Salal, Muaither and Rawdat Al Khail.

The official added that a medical isolation hospital in Umm Salal became ready on April 9. It has a capacity of 12,500 beds and is equipped with all the necessary health requirements, facilities and safety features to receive those infected with the virus.
