The Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kiran said that his country had evacuated about 70000 citizens from 101 countries around the world, due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Turkey has taken an ideal position in terms of its assistance to the rest of the countries in combating the virus, and to respond to its citizens who stuck in other countries by organising special trips to bring them home, the Deputy Foreign Minister said in his statement today.

He pointed out that Turkey has recently received requests for assistance from 126 countries around the world, which reflects its position with the rest of the countries.

He explained that his country sent the second medical aid batch to the United States on Friday, noting that his country had previously sent similar aid to dozens of countries, including Spain, Italy, Britain, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Libya, Somalia and South Africa.

The United States still ranks first in the world in terms of COVID-19 deaths and injuries, ahead of Italy, Spain and France.
