Staff from Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) Communicable Disease Center (CDC) gathered this week to say goodbye to 'a very special patient' - an 85-year-old Qatari woman.
She is believed to be the oldest person in the country to have recovered from Covid-19, HMC tweeted.

In mid-March, after complaining of fever and cough, the woman was diagnosed with Covid-19 and admitted to the CDC. Earlier this week, she was discharged from the hospital after two consecutive tests confirmed that she had been cured of the virus, HMC said in an accompanying video.
HMC's Dr Muna al-Maslamani, Dr Muna al-Rashid and Dr Mohamed Abu Khattab were among the group of doctors, and nurses who gathered to say goodbye to "this very special patient". A total of 2,070 people had recovered from Covid-19 in the country until Wednesday, according to figures released by the Ministry of Public Health.
