Two Qatari citizens have shared their experience of recovering from Covid-19, stressing the high-quality care they received during their treatment.
They made the observations while speaking to Qatar TV Saturday.
Both Aysha Saqr and Adel al-Harami said they received "more than excellent care" from the health authorities in the country, right from the "highly convenient" health quarantine facilities and diagnosis of the disease to the treatment process after their samples tested positive for Covid-19.
Saqr said she got the infection while she had gone abroad.
She had travelled to the UK to have a transplant surgery, which made her immune system more vulnerable.
While Saqr took all the necessary preventive and precautionary measures, she was shocked on being informed at Hamad International Airport — upon her return to Qatar — that she was infected with Covid-19.
She had already been away from her children for her treatment, she recalled.
Narrating her experience thereon, Saqr said she was given all due support and care, which helped her recover from Covid-19 quickly.
She advised everyone in Qatar to maintain adequate physical distance from others, be careful about touching surfaces and stay at home as much as possible as the infection is a tricky one.
This is because she spent more than 20 days unaware that she had been already infected, which could have easily exposed others to the virus.
Al-Harami, too, contracted the infection while he had gone to the UK.
Both he and Saqr stressed that the medical staff in the country were exerting immense efforts to help patients recover and people should assume their responsibility by following the recommended measures and exercising caution.
They also highly appreciated the high-quality and efficient care given by the government to all inhabitants of the country in this regard.
