The examinations at the end of the second semester of the general and specialised Secondary School Certificate for the 2019/2020 academic year began Monday. Around 11,500 students are taking the exams at some 149 centres, with the ministry planning to allocate about 6,100 employees to work as observers and in steering committees. The exams will continue until June 13.
HE Dr al-Hammadi noted that the ministry had set the necessary safety standards and requirements, such as maintaining a safe distance between students, providing a safe and healthy environment for the examinations taking into account the current conditions, and reducing the exam time and number of questions included in each test.
The observations came during HE the Minister's visit to Doha Preparatory and Secondary Schools for Boys Monday to ascertain that the exams were being conducted properly and that the relevant precautionary measures were taken to curb the outbreak of Covid-19.
HE the Minister praised the close and constructive co-operation between the MoEHE and other ministries and departments concerned in the State, in order to secure the examinations and take all precautions, which have contributed to the smooth conduct of the exams.
He also expressed thanks to the teaching and administrative bodies that carry out their work with all sincerity and responsibility, whether in developing examinations, monitoring or marking, while wishing success to all the male and female students.
