Mohamed Abdel Salam Hilali, an expatriate who recently recovered from Covid-19 along with his entire family, said he felt it was his duty to donate his plasma to contribute to the efforts of treating other infected people.
Recalling his experience, he told Qatar TV that as soon as he started feeling the symptoms of the novel coronavirus, he contacted the health authorities, who told him to quarantine himself and seek further help if things got worse.
He continued to quarantine himself at home but, within a few days, his condition started to deteriorate. So, he called the health department concerned for advise.
Hilali and his family members, all of whom had tested positive for Covid-19, were taken to the designated hospital for treatment. He and his daughter started to recover first, while his wife and other children remained there for a longer period.
He stressed that the medical staff gave him and his family all due care and adopted a tailor-made approach for the treatment of each member of his family in line with the requirements of each case.
Hilali stressed that he felt it was his duty to donate his plasma to help the efforts of treating other infected people. He also noted that now he feels more responsible in strictly following the preventive and precautionary measures to protect the society against the spread of Covid-19 infection.
Further, Hilali said he should tell others to be more careful and abide by the said measures for their own good and to avoid what he and his family had to undergo for more than five weeks.
He advised people to take care of their health through healthy food and regular sports, which could enhance the strength of their immune system.
