* Health control section conducts 507 regular inspection tours in May, resulting in issuance of two violation reports

Al Shamal Municipality's health control section conducted 507 regular inspection tours in May, which resulted in the issuance of two violation reports and administrative closure of 12 food establishments for food health and safety violations.

Besides, the inspectors supervised the slaughter of 912 heads of livestock at the abattoirs there, with eight carcasses being destroyed completely and 46 partially. the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said.

The section also received 63 complaints and dealt with them accordingly.

Similarly, the general control section conducted 240 regular inspection tours, with 61 violation reports being issued. Also, 67 abandoned vehicles were spotted and warning stickers placed on them seeking their removal by the owners. The section also received 40 complaints.

Further, the technical control section carried out 165 regular inspection tours and issued seven violation reports.

Meanwhile, a number of inspection campaigns were carried out to spot labour camps within family residential areas, besides a number of campaigns to raise the awareness of workers at construction sites on taking the necessary precautions against the spread of Covid-19.

In addition, inspection campaigns at food establishments were further intensified.
