The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has provided a hotline, 2342000, where technical support will be provided to people in order to address various issues concerning the National Address registration.
The MoI has asked the public to contact the number to get clarifications on the registration process.
The ministry has so far announced certain relaxations for citizens and residents who are abroad for education and treatment when it comes to National Address registration.
The relaxation applies to residents and citizens who are unable to come to Qatar due to Covid-19 restrictions. Such persons will be allowed to complete the registration process without facing penalties if they present certificates that prove their presence abroad.
According to recent figures, as released by the MoI, some 1.5mn people have completed the registration process. They include both citizens and expatriates. Also, more than 70% of citizens have completed their registration.
Described as the first of its kind in GCC countries, the National Address law provides a qualitative leap in the conduct of judicial procedures while enabling a proper communication system.
The National Address registration will help the government easily reach out to people and deliver various services, including ambulance services. A citizen or an expatriate, or a legal representative, has to register the data in a simple form that includes the address of residence, fixed telephone number, mobile number, email, employer address for government and private sector employees, and permanent address abroad, if available.
The guardian of minor children has to register their data and bears the legal responsibility for the validity of this information.
The registration will increase the performance rates of security services for rapid response in case of emergencies. These include services provided by Al- Fazaa, Traffic Department, Civil Defence and the Ambulance Service.
