The Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs has announced that Friday prayer as well as Dhuhr prayer will not be held on Friday, 19 July in the limited number of mosques which have been reopened from June 15.

The ministry added that worshippers will perform Dhuhr prayer at home on Friday, 19 July. The rest of the prayers will be allowed on time in those mosques as per the precautionary procedures.

The ministry called on worshippers to co-operate in this regard.

The ministry had announced earlier the reopening of 500 mosques across Qatar with the start of the implementation of the first phase of easing coronavirus restrictions set by the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, and that the prayers will be held in the declared mosques according to the announced precautionary measures, such as bringing a prayer mat from home, wearing the face mask and showing the Ehteraz app on mobile phones before entering the mosque. Friday prayer is excluded from these procedures.

The ministry thanked worshippers for their co-operation with the mosque organisers to hold prayers according to the precautionary measures.(QNA)
