Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum enhances children's skills in writing, designing books

Events associated with the third edition of the children's books designer initiative kicked off Monday under the theme of a green desert, a better environment in quest of training children to write and design books through a series of applied workshops and lectures that guide children to the rigorous phases of designing books starting from authorship until drawing, reviewing and translation.Running until Wednesday at Children's Literature Center, the event comes in collaboration between the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum and Children's Literature Center, where organizers of the event seek to build children's capacities to be able to innovatively design books based on a professional writing approach dedicated to them.The organisers are keen to transform drawings and literature into printable books that are electronically readable, as the event features delivering of lectures on recycling paper to be further repurposed with the aim of preserving the environment.The event will be punctuated by showcasing books that have been designed by children in the first and second editions of the aforementioned initiative, as these books have demonstrated the children's creativity in writing and designing books, in addition to the fact that books that are due to be showcased feature a remarkable diversity, in terms of titles and contents the books have addressed.In addition, such an event would give the participating children an opportunity to engage with professional experts and artists in the area of designing children's books, in addition to engaging with them in some kind of brainstorming and share expertise with them in order to be empowered and be leaders of the upcoming generation in publication and authorship which would evidently enhance cultural cooperation and optimize contents of children's books through workshops and courses the event is set to present during days of the event.Director of the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum Riyad Ahmed Yassin underscored the importance of this initiative in promoting the culture of reading for young people, lauding the efforts undertaken by the forum, Children's Literature Center and the entities supervising the initiative in promoting this idea, encouraging creative talents, and nurturing values of authorship for children.For her part, director of Dar Nabga for Publishing and Distribution Asma Al Kuwari said she is glad to have an event like this to encourage children to read and upgrade their mental and creative abilities in design and authorship.The event is anticipated to give significant contributions to stablish a generation capable of writing, designing, and promoting diversity in books' contents and providing an inspirational model to children in the society.
