ExxonMobil Qatar has announced that it has renewed its support for Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), marking ten years of collaboration. Since 2013, ExxonMobil Qatar has been supporting the society’s work in cancer awareness, prevention, and care."We’re pleased to continue our support for Qatar Cancer Society and to help ensure that in line with the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030, our community is healthy, and that it’s also cancer free,” said Dominic Genetti, president and general manager for ExxonMobil Qatar."The society promotes healthy lifestyles to help prevent cancer, research cancer and its causes, and provides support to people in the community who have been affected by it. We’re happy to support this important and noble mission for another year,” he added."I would like to thank ExxonMobil Qatar for supporting the important work we do at Qatar Cancer Society to spread awareness about cancer, prevention methods and early detection,” said, Mona Ashkanani, general director of QCS."Ensuring that our community is healthy is a joint responsibility, and our efforts to fight cancer are more effective when we work together with various partners from different sectors in the country. ExxonMobil Qatar is a committed partner that cares about the well-being of our local community, and we’re thrilled that our relationship has reached the milestone of ten years of collaboration,” said, Ashkanani.Earlier this year, QCS planned a special awareness session for ExxonMobil Qatar employees at its offices to mark World Cancer Day, which takes place on February 4. Heba Nassar, a team leader at the society’s Health Education Department conducted the session. She discussed how lifestyle changes can reduce the risk of getting cancer and the importance of early detection and answered questions.ExxonMobil Qatar also works closely with the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research Al Amal Hospital – Qatar’s premier cancer hospital and made a contribution to support its research programmes earlier this year.
