The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) yesterday said it welcomes the public to visit all public beaches in the country from today, as Phase 2 of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions gets underway in the country.
The MME has stressed the importance of complying with precautionary and preventive measures while visiting beaches to ensure the safety of all.
It has also urged people to ensure public hygiene by not burying waste in the sand and by disposing of waste in designated containers only. The public has also been advised to maintain social distancing, use life jackets while swimming and not to allow children to use equipment in play areas. In a related matter, the ministry said Al Daayen Municipality has completed all arrangements to welcome visitors at Simaisma Beach from today. “We request all guests to abide by the health guidelines and co-operate with the staff,” it added.
The MME also tweeted that both the public and family beaches in Al Wakra are ready to welcome visitors from today. “Please follow the precautionary guidelines and requirements for public health,” it noted.
All public parks in the country will also be open from today but play areas will remain closed. The MME has said visitors are requested to adhere to the precautionary guidelines of the Ministry of Public Health, which include using the Ehteraz app, undergoing a body temperature check, maintaining a safe distance from others and following general hygiene practices.
As part of the preparations for the second phase of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions, the MME had intensified efforts to make public parks and beaches ready to receive visitors on July 1.
Accordingly, all maintenance, cleaning and sanitisation works have been carried out there while ensuring that the necessary precautionary and preventive measures are in place.
