In the colours of Al Wasmiyah Stud, Dhabyah made a perfect start to her career, winning the Racecourse Live Streams On Racing TV Extra Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Haydock in the United Kingdom on Monday evening.
Trained by William Haggas in Newmarket, Dhabyah came from last to first in the straight. A little green and showing some immaturity, the three-year-old chestnut filly took time to find her stride, but once balanced, she went easily past her rivals under jockey Danny Tudhope.
She won the 2,300m contest for three-year-olds and older by a length and three quarters in front of her half-sister Coconut, who is trained by Ed Walker and was ridden by Hector Crouch and had had two attempts earlier.
The favourite and more experienced with four starts already in her career, La Dragontea, trained by Michael Bell, was a further length and a quarter behind in third under William Buick.
The German-bred Dhabyah was a private purchase at the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale. She comes from a smart family. Her dam is a full sister to Group winners and sires Samum and Schiaparelli.
