The Philippine embassy has announced that it will resume operations on Sunday, August 16.
The embassy had been temporarily closed after a family member of one of its personnel tested positive for Covid-19.
Through an advisory on social media, the embassy informed the Filipino community in Qatar and the general public last evening that the decision was taken after the embassy staff member concerned was confirmed negative for Covid-19 earlier Wednesday by the Qatari health authorities, following a swab-test on Tuesday night.
To ensure the health and safety of its personnel and the transacting public, the embassy will have its premises disinfected starting Thursday in time for the reopening on Sunday, the advisory states.
Those whose appointments (for marriage, passport renewal, passport claim, etc) were affected by the temporary closure of the embassy will be accommodated and given priority when the mission reopens.
