Qatar participated in the 44th meeting of the GCC Standardisation Organisation.

Chairman of Qatar General Organisation for Standardisation and Metrology (QGOSM) Engineer Mohamed bin Saud al-Musallam represented Qatar in the meeting that was held via virtual communication technology.

The meeting discussed a number of important issues, including the memorandum of the presidency of the Standardisation Organisation regarding the follow up to the decisions of the Organisation's technical meetings No 42 and 43. With regard to the specifications and standards, the meeting discussed the adoption of Gulf standards and technical regulations and their amendments, in addition to the follow up of the work of the GCC technical standardisation committees.

The meeting also discussed technical work guides and the memorandum of the presidency of the Standardisation Organisation on the outcomes of the Technical Committees (TCs) for Metrology's meetings during the period from November 2018 until June 2020, in addition to the report of the President of the Gulf Metrology Association for the period from April 2017 until June 2020.

Additionally, the meeting discussed authorising the Standardisation Organisation to sign the agreement on translating the standards issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The unified financial system for implementing standardisation services was also discussed.

The meeting concluded by discussing and reviewing the implementation of the strategic plan of the GCC Standardisation Organisation during the period from 2016-2020, in addition to the organisation's strategic plan for the period from 2021-2023. The meeting took appropriate decisions regarding these memorandums.
