Miqdam Camp received the 14th batch of National Service Academy cadets on Wednesday. The training period lasts for a year and is divided into three phases.

The first phase includes basic training, physical fitness, infantry training, disassembly and installation of weapons, shooting, self-defence skills, swimming and battlefield skills.

The second phase includes specialised training pertaining to the Qatar Armed Forces, while the third phase will enhance military skills and academic education in co-ordination with Qatar University and a number of other educational institutions in the country.

The National Service Academy receives a batch of high school graduates every year. This year, it has received a large number of cadets, with all preventive and precautionary measures taken by a medical team from the armed forces medical services.

These include conducting a PCR examination, making sure that the recruits are free from Covid-19, sterilisation measures and a commitment to wearing masks and ensuring a safe distance between them, in order to complement the efforts and precautionary measures taken by Qatar to prevent and limit the spread of Covid-19.
