The School Affairs Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced yesterday the opening of registration for adult education students (homeschooling) for the academic year 2020/2021, through the public service portal till October 8.
Schools have been directed to review the documents of the students who registered through the public services portal. The data and documents are verified on a daily and continuous basis. The schools have been also directed to contact the homeschooling students in the adult education system registered with them in the previous academic year 2019/2020, and to register those wishing to complete their education and attendance. 
The ministry also directed the schools to contact the students registered in the electronic registration stage for the academic year 2020/2021 to bring all the necessary documents, and to approve their registration on the system after confirming the documents for registration.
The School Affairs Department at the ministry is responsible for verifying the documents required for the registration and approval of the students data on the National Student Information System (NSIS), receiving the necessary documents and the students signature on the students registration form of the adult education system – homes.
All nationalities are allowed to register in the schools, in accordance with the conditions permitted for registration in the adult education system, as well as all nationalities who do not meet the requirements for compulsory education and the students who have been removed from day education due to marriage, repeated failure or work, in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s policies.
On the other hand, the School Affairs Department announced the opening of online registration for adult education students (the parallel track), based on Ministerial Decision No 37 of 2019 regarding the development of the adult education system (the parallel track), which stipulated the creation of a track called (the parallel track) for adult education at the secondary level. It was decided to apply the parallel track starting from the academic year 2020/2021 in all secondary school levels.
The parallel track aims to help adult education students (elderly) who are unable to complete their study in the secondary level with the same educational programs included in general education, providing them with educational programmes developed specifically for them.
In order to complete the adult education student registration phase – the new parallel track in secondary schools for the academic year 2020/2021, the registration will open for adult education students (the parallel track) starting from today until October 8 electronically through the public services portal. 
The documents must be uploaded, and then contact the school to complete the registration procedures and receive the books.
For admission and registration in the parallel track, the student must be a Qatari citizen, not be less than 25 years old, and must has successfully completed the grade that precedes the grade he wishes to enrol in.
Regarding the educational curriculum of the parallel track, students will have a reduced educational curriculum during the years of study in the parallel track (10th, 11th and 12th levels), so that they study a percentage of the criteria for each subject to ensure that he or she is provided with the basic knowledge and skills required.
