Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the UN General Assembly session on Friday.
Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said that due to restrictions imposed by the local administration in New York, there will be no in-person high-level participation from outside.
He said that the General Debate of the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly will commence on Tuesday.
The spokesperson said Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will participate virtually in the high-level meeting of the General Assembly to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
He will also participate in other high-level engagements.
Chaudhri said that Pakistan welcomes the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelete`s reiteration of serious concerns on violence in Indian-administered Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has renewed its call for redoubling efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at ending poverty, fighting inequalities and tackling climate change.
The call was made by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and United Nations Economic and Social Council president Munir Akram while speaking at a high-level side event of UN General Assembly.
He underscored that top priority is to control coronavirus pandemic, which has inflicted unparalleled human suffering.
Akram also stressed the need to find ways to bridge the digital divide between developed and developing countries.
