Throughout September, Hamad Medical Corporation has been supporting World Alzheimer’s Month with a series of public events to raise awareness about the disease. On Monday, a section of the Doha Corniche was also illuminated in purple and several HMC officials, including Dr Hanadi al-Hamad, national lead for healthy ageing, senior consultant geriatrician and medical director of Rumailah Hospital and Qatar Rehabilitation Institute, were present to mark the occasion.
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) also expressed solidarity with Alzheimer's patients on the occasion in co-operation with the Ministry of Public Health.
