Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, in co-operation with Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), Tuesday began disbursing cash assistance to needy families in the Gaza Strip.
HE the chairman of the committee ambassador Mohamed al-Emadi said that the cash assistance will be provided to 100,000 poor families in the governorates of the Gaza Strip, where every family will receive $100.
He said the distribution is carried out through the postal bank and its branches and new points affiliated to it in the governorates, under the supervision of the Qatari committee staff and in co-operation with the authorities concerned, headed by the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Gaza.
HE al-Emadi stressed that strict health preventive measures are taken at the distribution centres to ensure the safety of the workers and beneficiaries. Preventive measures include sterilisation and physical distancing in light of the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Gaza Strip.
