Guyana is seeking investments from Qatar, especially in the areas of energy, infrastructure, tourism and industry.
This was conveyed by Guyanese ambassador George Hallaq when he and his delegation visited Qatar Chamber's first vice chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar al-Kuwari.
The meeting touched on informing the Qatari private sector on the available co-operation opportunities, investment opportunities in the South American country as well as products than can be exported to Qatar.
“This meeting (will be) a start of new phase for co-operation between both sides, especially in light of the interest of Qatari businessmen to explore the investment opportunities abroad in line with the state’s economic diversification strategy,” al-Kuwari said.
Highlighting various opportunities for the international investors; Hallaq called on Qatar Inc to explore these opportunities and participate in implementing projects.
The meeting stressed on the need to cement co-operation between the chambers of both the countries in a manner that brings together the private sector and companies of both sides and to identify opportunities for co-operation in all areas.
