A number of dignitaries and diplomats yesterday visited S'hail - the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition 2020, as the premier event completed three days.
Among the dignitaries who visited the exhibition on Thursdaywere HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani; Mohamed bin Ahmed al-Misnad, security adviser to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, chairman of Qatar Chamber, and Sheikh Falah bin Jassim bin Jabr al-Thani, Katara - the Cultural Village Foundation said in a press statement.
The diplomats who visited Katara for the exhibition on Thursday included Mehmet Mustafa Goksu, ambassador of Turkey; Greta C Holtz, chargé d'affaires of the US embassy; Andriy Kuzmenko, ambassador of Ukraine, and Iulia Zamfirescu, chargé d'affaires of Romania.
Visitors praised the development witnessed by the exhibition, reflecting Katara's global position and its leadership in hosting major cultural and heritage events. They also expressed admiration for S’hail, the wide and distinguished international participation and the innovations and high-quality products on display. They stressed that the exhibition "achieves a quantum leap every year and puts a
clear mark on the map of international exhibitions specialised in hunting and falcons", being the largest annual event of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Meanwhile, the online auction of falcons witnessed a great turnout of falcon lovers. Wednesday's auction in the category of Tarh Iran – Farkh Hur, saw Nasser bin Ali bin Hazza al-Jabr al-Nuaimi record the highest price of QR200,000, the statement noted.
S’hail 2020 sees the participation of a large number of exhibitors and companies specialised in hunting weapons, rifles and hunting
accessories.
Among the weapons companies taking part are Rammai Weapons and Ammunition Co, which is the agent of Beretta in the Gulf, Barzan, Al Gannas Company for Weapons and Ammunition, and Al-Hadaf for Hunting and Equestrian Equipment, which provide all the latest types of hunting weapons and accessories.
A number of ministries and official institutions are taking part in S’hail 2020, such as the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Municipality and Environment and Qatar Red Crescent Society, in addition to Al Gannas Association and Al Galayel Championship.
Private clinics dealing with falcons and other birds are also among the important participants, as they provide medical services, examinations and key information.
