A slew of measures has been put in place in order to ensure safety at Sealine beach that's set to host another season of winter camping. As per the plan, awareness programmes will be intensified by various departments while checks will be carried by competent authorities against violations.
At the sidelines of a press conference, organised by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) to announce the plans, Lt. Fahad Shareed al-Abdullah, Traffic Awareness Officer at the General Directorate of Traffic, told Gulf Times that plans are afoot to bring down accidents at Sealine. "Number of accident cases is coming down due to timely intervention and awareness. We are looking further to ensure the safety of all during this camping season,"he said.
Ali Darwish, Assistant Executive Director of the Ambulance Service, said that the ambulance at Sealine is capable of responding to emergencies." One helicopter is set to serve the area. And we are able to take the patients to the hospital and give them care," he said.
Lt. Col. Sheikh Mohamed bin Jasim al-Thani, South Traffic Department director, Cap. Abdul Wahid al-Anzi, Traffic Awareness Officer and Mohamed Sadoon al- Kuwari from Mawater Centre were also present.
