A round of political consultations was held between the ministries of foreign affairs of Qatar and Spain via visual communication technology on Monday.

The Qatari side was chaired by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, while the Spanish side was chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Co-operation Arancha Gonzalez Laya.

The consultations covered the bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern. Following the round of consultations, Qatar and Spain signed an agreement on abolishing visa requirements for the holders of diplomatic, special and service passports between the two countries. The agreement was signed by HE Sheikh Mohamed and Gonzalez Laya.
