Qatar Tourism (QT) has concluded the activities of the 8th Shop Qatar Festival, announcing the names of the winners of the last draw.Aisha al-Braid took home a Land Rover Defender under her winning ticket 151459.The other winners were: Faten al-Ansari (QR50,000/ticket 361743), Saleh Bakri (QR20,000/312932), Jomana al-Malek (QR20,000/192050), Maryam al-Ansari (QR10,000/341902), Olga Covarrubias (QR10,000/250718), and Randy Salamance (QR10,000/334111)In a press statement, QT head of Marketing and Planning Sheikha Hessa al-Thani said: "Shop Qatar is an integral element in Qatar’s annual calendar, as it attracts residents and visitors alike enhancing family tourism in the country.”"Qatar Tourism works closely with all its partners in the public and private sectors to host family-friendly events and festivals that are well-known for their wonderful and safe atmosphere,” she said.Shop Qatar is the largest shopping festival in Qatar, with this year’s edition themed "Your World of Shopping”.With the participation of 13 of the top shopping districts and malls in the country, Shop Qatar 2024 ran from January 1-27, offering an assortment of activities suitable for all ages, raffle draws, and wins of cash prizes and new cars.Shop Qatar 2024 gained wide popularity and great traction as it coincided with the "Hayakum Qatar” campaign launch and the activities surrounding the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, encouraging regional and international tourists to visit Qatar.The closing ceremony of Shop Qatar 2024 at Doha Festival City was filled with different activities and events.The surprise musical number by the artist Hammoud al-Khader was the highlight of the ceremony, as he performed the original track for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.The closing ceremony also saw a performance by the band Adem Crew, which won the Golden Buzzer from *America’s Got Talent, a musical performance by Asian musicians, and a performance by the Atai Omurzakov & Tumar KR group.Children had the opportunity to meet their favourite characters and watch the festivities.At the festival's closing, QT Shared Services director Omar al-Jaber honoured the shopping malls, their teams, and brands at the "Retail and Mall Awards” ceremony, in recognition of their contributions to the success of this year’s edition of the festival.The winners were Place Vendôme for the Highest Participation Award and Best Mall Award, and Doha Festival City for Best Branding Award.
