HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani met on Sunday with Axel Weber, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UBS Group AG, a Swiss investment bank, and the accompanying delegation on the occasion of their visit to the country. During the meeting, they reviewed the co-operation relations between Qatar and the banking group in the financial and investment fields, in addition to a number of issues of mutual interest.
Following the meeting, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar (IPAQ) and UBS banking group, which aims to set an initial blueprint for establishing a UBS wealth management centre in Doha and enhancing co-operation between the two parties on future opportunities that could cement Qatar's position as a leading global centre for financial services.
