At least one woman was killed and four others were injured in a double explosion on the outskirts of Al Abara subdistrict, northeast Baqubah in Diyala Province, an Iraqi security source announced on Thursday.

Al Abara district's Director Shaker Mazen Al Tamimi stated that an explosive device went off on an agricultural road at the outskirts of Zahra village, killing one woman and wounding another.

He indicated that another device exploded, targeting a police patrol, which caused the injuries of three operatives.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Directorate of General Military Intelligence announced that it had thwarted the process of importing materials for making explosives north of Baghdad which was dealt with according to the regulations. (QNA)
