As part of the activities taking place across Qatar during Doha Healthcare Week, which will be held from November 8 to 14, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will present a series of free informative webinars for the public on important health issues.
Following its establishment in 2018, this is the second Doha Healthcare Week to be jointly organised by the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) and healthcare organisations in Qatar. This year, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the majority of activities run throughout Doha Healthcare Week will be held virtually to ensure that people are still able to benefit from the sessions while staying safe.
The webinars run this year by HMC and PHCC will cover a range of topics, including stroke, healthy ageing, mental health and wellbeing, and diabetes, and will each feature a group of health experts who will discuss key issues and provide practical tips and advice.
“We are delighted to be offering this series of webinars for the public throughout Doha Healthcare Week. This year has been a particularly challenging one for people right around the world and it is important that we continue to promote health education and raise awareness among Qatar’s population of these important health issues,” said Ali Abdulla al-Khater, chief communications officer at HMC.
“The health topics being covered throughout Doha Healthcare Week, including diabetes and mental health and wellbeing, affect large numbers of people in Qatar. I encourage you to register for these sessions, which will also offer attendees the opportunity to ask specific questions that will be answered by the experts,” added al-Khater.
The webinars include the following: November 8 at 1.30pm: Stroke Rehabilitation in Qatar; November 11 at 1pm: Healthy Ageing and Dementia Risk Reduction (English); November 11 at 2pm: Healthy Ageing and Dementia Risk Reduction (Arabic); November 11 at 4pm: ‘Are you OK?’ Mental Health and Wellbeing; November 14 at 3pm: Diabetes Prevention in Qatar; and November 14 at 3.45pm: Diabetes Self-Management Education.
The sessions are open to all, but prior registration is required.
