The women golfers from Doha Golf Club (DGC) and Education City Golf Club recently came together to celebrate the Pink Day in style. As many as 20 female golfers from different countries participated in the golf tournament specially organised to mark the occasion. The tournament was held at DGC.
Tasneem Kazi, captain of DGC women golfers, organised the Pink Day golf tournament which was followed by the prize distribution ceremony and lunch. The golfers were dressed in pink to create awareness about breast cancer, which is one of the leading causes of death in women.
Nada Mir and Audrey were the winners and Pat Yurkiw and Shauna Leoj were the runners-up. The other winners in different categories were, Katie Belman, Pat Yurkiw, Uzma Mir, Chom Rum Sariowan, Marianne Cederberg and Valerie Olmsted.
Rukkaiya Pachisa shared her thoughts on how to detect breast cancer via self-screening. Initial stage detection can save life with prompt treatment. Stay fit and stay healthy was the message shared on the day.
