Ooredoo has held a flu vaccination session for its staff at its headquarters in Doha, in support of the Ministry of Public Health’s annual influenza vaccine campaign.

As the annual flu season approaches, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation are working together to provide this year’s flu vaccine free of charge.

With the the health of its staff a priority, Ooredoo organised the event on Sunday and Monday at Ooredoo Towers - to make the vaccine easily and conveniently available to staff at its premises.

In keeping with MoPH guidelines, priority was given to the elderly, expectant mothers and those with chronic illnesses.

To maintain health and safety at the vaccination session, strict guidelines were enforced including Ehteraz Green Status confirmation, social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director PR at Ooredoo, said: “As we continue to battle the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever that we all do what we can to protect ourselves against illness this winter, and especially that the more vulnerable are protected. The Qatar Ministry of Public Health recommends the annual flu vaccine as a means of protection against seasonal influenza, so we wanted to help our employees access this vaccine quickly and easily. The health and wellbeing of our staff – and indeed our customers – is, and remains, our key priority.”

Mrs. Huda Mohsen Al Wahedi, Executive Director of Corporate Communications at PHCC, said: “PHCC, with guidance from the Managing Director of PHCC, Dr Mariam Ali Abdul Malik, is strongly committed to opening the horizons of co-operation with all state institutions in order to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030 with respect to the health sector.”

As part of the MoPH campaign, the annual flu vaccination is currently available free of charge at all PHCC government health centres.
