QC honours Qatari school’s top students in Albania
Under the patronage of the Qatar embassy in Tirana, the capital of Albania, Qatar Charity (QC) has honoured 11 outstanding students of the Qatari School as well as the top students who are under its sponsorship.
The honouring of the students took place at a ceremony attended by Albania's Education, Sports and Youth Minister Evis Kushi and Qatar’s ambassador to Albania Ali bin Hamad al-Marri, in addition to dignitaries, officials of humanitarian organisations and government agencies, professors, educators and parents.
During the ceremony, 110 male and female students of the Qatari School and those sponsored by QC in Albania were honoured.
Forty-five university graduates who had previously been sponsored by Qatar Charity were also honoured.
The list of honoured graduates includes those who studied medicine, engineering, computer science, media and other academic disciplines within and outside Albania, QC said in a statement.
Speaking at the ceremony, al-Marri expressed gratitude for QC's continuous humanitarian and developmental efforts and for its clear impact on the lives of the beneficiaries, thanking donors in Qatar for supporting the Albanian people.
Kushi expressed delight at participating in the ceremony while also thanking Qatar Charity, which supports educational and other projects in the country.
At the end of the ceremony, the Qatari ambassador, Albanian minister and other officials presented awards and certificates of thanks to the outstanding students, wishing them further and continued successes in their studies.
The pass rate of the Qatari School students for the 2019-2020 year is 100%.
All the students have joined public and private universities.
In addition to its efforts at the Qatari School, QC’s office in Tirana supervises two other educational projects, which benefit more than 2,000 students yearly, the statement adds.
